Baby Welcoming
As an alternative to christening or baptism, the baby welcoming is a formal yet joyous occasion that introduces a new baby, stepchild, or adopted child. In attendance are family, close friends, and others of significance to the baby. They all are witnesses, as the parents’ publicly commit themselves, for the rest of their lives, to the loving and nurturing of the new child.
